Partnerships are a key to this project bringing together a diverse group to create a network of learning spaces that will benefit our community. The primary research partners for the project are the Computer Systems Group (CSG) at the University of Waterloo and the Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo (SPCKW). Our funding partner is the Human Resources Development Canada's Office of Learning Technology.
According to the Partnership Handbook published by HRDC, "Communities grow stronger with the participation and inclusion of many, and partnerships are a good way to enhance existing strengths and activities." We have found that this is true for this project. Our community-based partnership brings skills and resources to the project that enable us to create a learning space with diverse data (social, economic, cultural and rural) and to integrate ideas, activities and goals with others.
